Members of engine companies could and can be identified at fires and other emergencies by their all black helmets.

ONE OF ONLY FOUR GAS TURBINE POWERED FIRE APPARATUS IN THE WORLD
1966   August 18th: to February 20th, Continental 6 cylinder 330 HP gasoline engine installed at City & County Central Shops, Fire Shop
1969   Engine Company No. 11, 1295 Shafter Street
1978   Placed into reserve
1987   March 19th, transferred to the roster of the Museum
