Joseph Flood, 44, 2109 Balboa Street, fireman attached to Fire Station No. 1 on Treasure Island, died at the Harbor Emergency Hospital form injuries received when he fell from the top of an 80 foot ladder.

S.F.FIREMEN MORUN DEATH OF COMARADE IN ISLAND BLAZE
Praise for the twenty year record of service of Fireman Joseph C. Flood, and sorrow for his death from injuries suffered in Treasurer Island's California Building fire, came last night from the fire fighter's association and superiors in the department.
A native of San Francisco, Mr. Flood, 44, had joined the department August 12, 1920 - twenty years ago this month.
Regularly assigned as a driver at the Bush and Grant Streets station, Mr. Flood was temporary duty with Treasurer Island's Fire Station One, for the duration of the Fair.
He was in the line of duty with the Fair company that he scaled the burning California yesterday morning, was struck by a battery line and toppled eighty feet to the ground, succumbing a few hours later at Harbor Emergency Hospital.
Mr. Flood, who lived at 2109 Balboa Street, leaves a widow, Angela, and a son, Marvin. 21. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at St. Monica's Church, under the direction of Carew and English.
